Mediation
Mediation is, in essence a facilitation … it is about guiding individuals and groups to find the answers to their own issues … the direction that they need to go in … the actions that they need to take.
Helpful and unhelpful dynamics exist in all relationships, groups and teams … it is a normal, natural part of living in any society, anywhere in the world. For example, when individuals or groups have conflicting priorities, tension occurs … and issues arise. Often what appears to be the problem or issue is not the real issue.
So identifying the real issues, the absolutes and a commitment to resolve the problems, clears the way forward for all concerned.
The first step in this collaborative process is for all involved to freely choose participation.
Our approach and methodology enable people to say what needs to be said and to “clear the air” safely. From that place, the possibilities for a more positive future can be explored. The most appropriate options to suit all parties are then be decided, collaboratively.
Agreements are then recorded and new ways of working and relating begun. Follow up is a key step in this process to evaluate and re-set, and to acknowledge steps and changes made.
